My Wonderful Home Province of Shandong!
Hi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I live in the amazing province of Shandong in eastern China. Today, I want to tell you all about the cool customs, yummy food, and fun seasons we have here. Get ready to learn some awesome stuff!
First up, let's talk about Shandong's customs and traditions. We have so many neat ones that have been passed down for centuries. One of my favorites is the Qingming Festival in early April. We clean up our ancestors' graves and burn fake money and other papers to honor them. The burning papers look so cool with their bright colors!
Another big custom is the Dragon Boat Festival in June. We eat delicious zongzi (sticky ric
e dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves) and watch super exciting dragon boat races on the rivers and lakes. I love cheering for the teams as they paddle really fast. Sometimes the boats even have a dragon head at the front - how awesome is that?
Speaking of awesome, Shandong's food is out of this world! We're famous across China for our delicious dishes like Jinan sour noodles, Dezhou braised chicken, and Qingdao's fresh seafood. My absolute favorite is Jinan's signature snack - dralion (super crispy twisted dough sticks). I could eat them all day long with a little vinegar dipping sauce. Yum yum!
Shandong's cuisine uses lots of fresh local ingredients like wheat, corn, seafood from the coast, and the famous Laiyang peanuts. We love adding vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and chilies to give our food an extra kick. Trust me, once you try real Shandong food, you'll never look at Chinese food the same way again!
Now let me tell you about our cool seasons in Shandong. Summer is crazy hot and humid, but that's perfect for heading to the amazing beaches along the Yellow Sea. I love b
uilding sandcastles, swimming in the waves, and eating fresh grilled seafood from the vendors on the boardwalk. The sunsets over the ocean are just breathtaking.
Fall is probably my favorite season, with the moderate temps and beautiful golden leaves everywhere you look. It's simply gorgeous! One of the highlights is the huge Taishan Sunflower Festival every September, where you can wander through fields of millions of bright yellow sunflowers. Make sure to take tons of pictures - it's a photographer's dream!
Winter in Shandong can be pretty cold and dry, but that's when we get to enjoy all of our warming hotpot dishes. Nothing beats cozying up around a huge bubbling pot of broth, veggies, and meats with family and friends. We also celebrate the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) in late winter with fireworks, red decorations, dumplings, and family reunions. I love getting few new red envelopes filled with lucky money!
Lastly, spring is an amazing time of renewal in Shandong. Everything starts blooming, from pretty peach blossoms to fields of vibrant yellow rapeseed flowers coating the countryside. We have cloud after cloud of beautiful butterflies migrating through too. Spring
is also primetime for kite flying festivals all over the province. There's nothing better than a sunny day running around with a colorful kite dancing in the wind!

我来自山东,这是一个有着悠久历史和丰富文化底蕴的地方。山东不仅有美丽的风景,还有很多有趣的风俗习俗和美味可口的食物。
先说说山东的风俗吧!每年春节的时候,我们都会贴对联、吃饺子、放鞭炮,祈祷新的一年家家户户平安吉祥。过年的时候,祖孙三代人总会坐在一起吃一顿丰盛的团圆饭,一家人其乐融融。除夕夜,我们还会一起看春节联欢晚会,直到半夜才睡觉。第二天一大早,孩子们就会穿上漂亮的新衣服,给长辈拜年,然后开开心心地领红包。
中秋节的时候,我们会赏月、吃月饼。爷爷奶奶会给我们讲关于嫦娥奔月的传说,我们也会一家人摆上水果和月饼,在院子里一边欣赏明月,一边吃着香甜的月饼,品尝着家人之间团聚的幸福。
山东也有很多好吃的美食哦!最有名的就是烧烤了吧。夏天的时候,烤肉串、烤蔬菜的香味就会在街头弥漫开来。我最爱吃烤马铃薯,外皮香脆,里面又滚烫又甜糯。
除了烧烤,山东的面食更是种类繁多。烙大饼、刷白糖的糖蒸鸡蛋,甜甜的馒头,还有各种各样的馄饨、汤面,都让人垂涎欲滴。我们家过年的时候,奶奶总会亲手包上几百个饺子,虽然很辛苦,但吃到这些美味,一切就都值得了。
山东四季分明,也是体现在它的食物中。春天有春笋、蘑菇,夏日则有西瓜、黄瓜等爽口水果蔬菜,秋季是菊黄蘑菇、芝麻糊的天下。冬天则是萝卜、白菜、大头菜等口味浓郁的菜品当家做主角。无论哪个季节,山东的饭桌都格外丰盛和热闹。
我最喜欢的就是夏天啦!那时校园里的银杏树会长满嫩绿的小叶子,到了秋天就会变成金黄,真是漂亮极了。放假的时候,我会和朋友们在操场上玩游戏,或者去山上采野果。入夜时分,蝉鸣声此起彼伏,很是热闹。
冬天则是另一番景象,虽然阳光稀少,但家家户户都会烧着火炉,温暖融融的。我会和爸爸妈妈在家里下棋、看电视、吃爆米花,一家人其乐融融。
